アーティストNamichieによるEP「GHANA」は、
西アフリカ・ガーナでのフィールドワークを起点に制作された作品である。
本作は、身体・祖先・土地・言語をめぐる個人的体験を、音楽と言葉を通して再構築する試みとして生まれた。
Namichieは日本とアフリカのルーツを持つディアスポラとして、自身の身体に刻まれた記憶や文化的断絶、そして再接続の過程を楽曲として記録している。
タイトルをすべて大文字で表記した「GHANA」は、単なる地名ではなく、精神的領域や文化的象徴としての空間を意味する。
それは国家や国境を越え、歴史と祖霊、そして現在を結ぶ精神的な場所として提示されている。
本作では、日本語・英語・Twi（ガーナの言語）が交差し、ディアスポラの複層的な言語感覚を音楽として表現している。

■プロフィール
なみちえは、1997年生まれ。日本人の母とガーナ人の父を持ち、神奈川県茅ヶ崎市を拠点に活動するアーティスト／ラッパーである。
音楽、着ぐるみ制作、パフォーマンス、執筆など複数の表現手法を横断しながら、身体・視線・表象・権力構造を主題とした制作を行っている。

2016年、東京藝術大学美術学部先端芸術表現科に入学。在学中はコンセプチュアルアートを基盤に、身体表現と社会的文脈を横断する作品を多数発表した。2018年にはWorld Vision主催「未来ドラフト2018」にて、準グランプリおよびオーディエンス賞をW受賞し、あわせてムラサキスポーツ賞を受賞するなど、芸術表現と社会的発信力の両面で評価を受ける。2019年には奨励賞にあたる平山郁夫賞を受賞し、翌年の卒業制作は大学に買い上げられた。2020年、**首席（買い上げ賞）**で同学科を卒業。

同年、音楽活動においてはデビューアルバム『毎日来日（Everyday Away）』を発表し、APPLE VINEGAR Music Award 2020 特別賞を受賞。ラッパーとしても注目を集め、**Forbes Japan「30 Under 30 2020」**に選出される。

以降、音楽活動と美術表現を並行させながら、個展・グループ展・パフォーマンスへの参加を重ねる。主な展示・パフォーマンスに、GINZA ATRIUM 銀座蔦屋書店、草月会館（第36回サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ プレイベント「INVOCATION」）などがある。2024年には大阪・GALLERY Uroにて個展「Namichie × Kigroom」を開催。2025年にはFAMEME《THORNITURE》でのパフォーマンスや、東京都現代美術館でのグループ展「日常のコレオ」に参加するなど、活動の領域を拡張し続けている。

Namichie (born 1997) is an artist and rapper based in Chigasaki, Japan, with Japanese and Ghanaian heritage.

Working across multiple mediums—including music, costume-making, performance, and writing—her practice explores the body, gaze, representation, and structures of power.
In 2016, she entered the Department of Intermedia Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. While studying, she produced numerous works grounded in conceptual art, intersecting bodily expression with social and cultural contexts. In 2018, she received both the Runner-up Prize and the Audience Award at Mirai Draft 2018, organized by World Vision, and was also awarded the Murasaki Sports Prize, gaining recognition for both artistic expression and social impact. In 2019, she received the Ikuo Hirayama Award, and her graduation work was subsequently acquired by the university. She graduated at the top of her class in 2020.

In the same year, she released her debut album Everyday Away, which received the Special Award at the APPLE VINEGAR Music Award 2020. Her work as a rapper attracted wider attention, and she was selected for Forbes Japan’s “30 Under 30 2020.”

Since then, Namichie has continued to develop a multidisciplinary practice alongside her music career, participating in solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and performances. Her work has been presented at venues such as GINZA ATRIUM Tsutaya Books and Sogetsu Kaikan, including INVOCATION, a pre-event of the 36th São Paulo Biennale. In 2024, she held a solo exhibition titled Namichie × Kigroom at GALLERY Uro in Osaka. In 2025, she participated in performances for FAMEME’s THORNITURE and in the group exhibition Choreography of the Everyday at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, continuing to expand the scope of her practice.
